A parallel universe where imagination meets technology and creativity knows no bounds: the metaverse, a reality that is rapidly becoming more and more concrete. Described as an immersive virtual space, the metaverse offers an unprecedented experience of connection and collaboration, a world in which to explore endless possibilities unimaginable in the everyday. In these hyperrealistic environments, art is also becoming increasingly present, giving rise to new dimensions where its beauty can be contemplated. It was the fascination and thrill of these new experiences that led Daniele Nembrini and his brother Enzo, artistic director of Ecoedile Srl, toward the decision to create the NEMBRINI VR MUSEUM.

Through the development of an Oculus augmented reality, it will be possible to experience an exhibition featuring the works in the collection. "We sensed the need to create the first museum in the metaverse. This means responding to a challenge that involves, on the one hand, the creation of a space without limits, freed from reality, and on the other hand, the difficulty of hardware limitations," explains Bernabò Visconti. The project's meticulous investigation found an answer to the question "How to compensate for such limitations?" in Meta Studio's skillful use of architectural creativity, the result of which were floating spaces capable of overcoming gravity and physical limitations. "This is a project in which the rational part related to the rules of space is perfectly combined with the emotional part of those who want to use it," say Caterina Marazzi and Luca Miserocchi, founders of the studio. In this context, the collection is understood as a "hidden treasure" and technology becomes the right tool to discover it. While starting from the idea of immersing the viewer in a dimension that cannot be comparable to what he or she has experienced before, the architects felt it necessary to confront the human mind's need to grasp an averagely realistic hook. From the design point of view, in fact, the inputs were translated into the search for actually existing architectural or landscape references. "The important thing was not to overdo it in order to make this experience saturated. After all, the exhibition space has a very specific goal: to observe the collection." The references seemed to be already inherent in the minds of Caterina Marazzi and Luca Miserocchi, who opted for a bird's-eye view to introduce into the space, turning the visitor into a drone that gradually discovers the entire exhibition, in a path with no set rules.

For this disorienting environment, the inspiration comes from the experience they had inside a legendary quarry on the island of Menorca, a poetic and evocative setting, and since the metaverse grants the possibility of having control over the landscape, they used the opportunity to relocate the artworks in the open air, generating a constant connection between art and nature. In an art gallery, being able to see the works and look at the sky at the same time is an exciting feeling in itself. In the trans-pandemic phase we are going through, the NEMBRINI VR MUSEUM symbolizes the Nembrini Brothers' boldness and avant-garde in implementing new strategies in which to build a different and desirable future.
