Venere Bugiarda

Nine alabaster spheres, on which are carved the letters that form the word forever, now live in the garden of Casa Nembrini arranged according to the orbit of Venus around the sun, a glass-resin sphere finished in gold, inhabiting the pond and like all stars reflecting light.

"Can a stone exist forever?

Can it resist my finitude?

Nina asks herself."

Gravity, weight, time, time-infinity analyzed through stone that refers to the Eternal that we cannot know. It is a work that goes beyond, projecting itself into the infinite, into the cosmos, while remaining strongly rooted in contemporary problems: climate change, political and social inattention in this regard, fostering a temporary sweep as much as a slight sense of vertigo. The viewer, in order to discover the work, is forced to take the same turn as Venus almost as if the artist were asking us for a reflection that needs to take time.

"Forever," the artist tells us, "is a promise Venus makes to the Sun, as if she were saying, 'I will go around you forever.' Venus is lying because the Sun in billions of years, or maybe much sooner, will be so huge and hot that it will eat the planets within its orbit."

After all, Venus loves the sun and keeps circling around it, incredulous of what will happen.

The presentation of Venere Bugiarda is accompanied by a poetic action. Nina Carini, fascinated by the relationship between these two stars, writes her first poem entitled Forever and Toujours where Venus and the Sun converse on the question of time. Verses that float on the page, seem like fragments of an amorous dialogue, the erotic theme is perceptible - there is a multitude behind it, a swarming that the whites - the open spaces - only accentuate.

The text will soon be published in the form of an artist's book.

Casa Nembrini, in the heart of Val Cavallina, is an old spinning mill that, in a complete state of neglect, has been restored to its original splendor thanks to the passion and vision of Enzo Nembrini. A building entrepreneur and collector, born in 1974, he has created a place where architecture, design and art dialogue as a single organism and where everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail. Starting with the choice of materials, which are fundamental in the building profession and equally important in the choice of works of art. In fact, as Enzo likes to repeat, "the choice of materials is the first step towards something good also because it allows you to 'touch' the object and experience it tactilely." A collection, Enzo's, in the making that we could call "cross-category," characterized by site-specific interventions inspired by the place where they will be experienced, such as Venere Bugiarda, created by artist Nina Carini (Palermo, 1984).

Appreciating art beyond the object is an integral part of the creative process envisioned by Enzo Nembrini, which is why he conceived OFFICINA32. This name - reminiscent of an artisan workshop on the one hand and the age of the founder at the beginning of his career on the other - is a place, not a place, of dialogue between collection, creation, art, architecture and design. A labyrinth made of ideas, inspirations, where to live, create, design and make freely. A connection that goes beyond the walls and contaminates everything: a building, the facade, the ceiling, the floor, the furniture, the designers and the artists, like a huge installation designed to let each individual's creativity breathe and live. Recently inaugurated, this experimental construction site, characterized by painstaking international research, curated by the creator of OFFICINA32, making use of trusted and valuable collaborators, aims to become a reference point for a new generation of architects, artists, and designers.
